Justin Samson was born in 1979 in Milford (Connecticut) and he currently lives and works in New York. In 2003 he graduated in Fine Arts at the School of Visual Arts in New York.

His works are influenced by pop culture and underground art of the 80s: the DiY culture and anti-establishment mindset of the punk movement.

Considering the creative act like inclusive, the work of art becomes an open work. Samson’s work employs an aesthetic that recycles the random consumer debris that fills out our culture and delves in popular culture and the manifold forms of diffuse communication, ranging from the cinema and literature, to comic strips and the cover of music albums.

There are several exhibitions dedicated to Justin Samson; recently at the Neumann Wolfoson Art was held House of Walls (2019) and the solo exhibition Anthology Being (2015) at Kravets |Whelby Gallery in New York. Among the group shows we can remember Aftermodernism A perspective on Contemporary Art James Busby Justin Samson (2019) at Mucciaccia Contemporary in Roma and Potpourri (2018) at Neumann Wolfons Art in New York. He is part of the artistic current Aftermodernism, founded by the collector Hubert Neumann. He has also participated in various art fairs such as the Armony Art Fair in New York and the Nordic Art Fair in Sweden, his works are in the public collections of the Walker Art Center in Minneaplois and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
